Documenting the story of when Joel married Kate, changed how I view weddings and helped me achieve a deeper understanding and appreciation of why couples are hell bent on getting hitched.
This wedding wasn’t bought, it was built by the hands of Kate, Joel and their family and friends.
They kept it simple and did only what felt right to them - no shoulds or have tos where anywhere in sight.
There was no separating these two lovebirds, they were right by each others side the entire day. Kate and Joel spent the morning together and got ready in the same house. They entered the ceremony hand in hand, already bound to each other (with their sassy pug right by their side).
There was no aisle, just everyone who mattered, gathered around them.
The day ran by the setting of the sun and drink breaks.
This was a day purely about Kate and Joel and the people who are lucky enough to be part of their lives.
This is what love looks like when you strip it down to it’s honest and most beautiful form.
